All Pioneer^® brand hybrids, varieties and inoculants are tested and proven both globally and in New Zealand to ensure their adaptability to a range of environments.

Tamper proof seed bags

All the way through our seed production process, extensive steps are in place to ensure you only receive the finest seed. For your protection, every bag of Pioneer^® brand seed is mechanically stitched closed with green and white bicolour tamper proof string. If you happen to receive product that is opened or re-stitched, we cannot guarantee the quality, or the number of kernels enclosed and the Pioneer warranty and replant risk policy is void.

Replant risk policy

If within two months of establishment, your maize crop needs replanting, Genetic Technologies Limited will share some of your farming risk by supplying replacement seed at half price for planting within the same season. Simply advise your merchant representative or Pioneer Area Manager of the problem and your crop will be inspected. Details of your loss will be ascertained, together with your preferred replacement hybrid(s) and urgent delivery of your half price seed will be arranged.

Quality seed

Not all seed is created equal. All Pioneer^® brand maize seed sold in New Zealand is grown in New Zealand. Producing top performing seed requires an ongoing commitment and investment in world class facilities, procedures and standards. With the support of Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. and an ISO 9001:2000 accredited quality control system, all Pioneer^® brand maize seed sold in New Zealand is rigorously tested for genetic purity and vigour at Pioneer’s Seed Quality Laboratory in Parndorf, Austria.

Pioneer test planter service

To help maize growers maximise the return from their investment in Pioneer genetics and seed quality, we offer growers and planting contractors the Pioneer Test Planter Service. Co-ordinated by your local Area Manager, the process includes seed meter performance testing, inspection and precision calibration. This enhances overall finger planter performance. The basis for the system is the test planter, which calibrates finger planter units to achieve maximum seed spacing accuracy. Even spacing reduces competition between plants from double drops and maximises plant populations by avoiding gaps. The resulting, evenly spaced maize plants become the foundation for maximum yields at harvest time.
