Maize Silage Inoculants

Maize Silage Inoculants

* While 11C33 and 11CFT inoculated maize silage can be fed out immediately after harvest, it will stay cooler longer when it's fermented 30 days prior to feeding.

1 Silage quality
A measure of the fermentation quality as well as the improvement in silage digestibility, protein content and feed value.

2 Aerobic stability
A measure of how well silage retains its quality when re-exposed to the air at feed-out time. Higher aerobic stability means lower feed-out losses. For maximum aerobic stability gains, silage must ferment for a minimum of 30 days before feeding.

3 Drymatter recovery
A measure of how much of the total feed ensiled is available for the animal to eat. Higher drymatter recovery comes from lower shrinkage, run-off and spoilage.
